Shore Construction - September CSR Newsletter

Job vacancies in the UK are at an all-time high with over 1.3 million opportunities available in May 2022 alone. With this rise comes much-needed employment opportunities for disadvantaged communities. However, without support, these vacancies remain unfilled continuing the cycle of unfilled job roles and high unemployment in poorer areas.

To counter this issue, Shore Construction, has partnered with charity group, WBC Cares UK, promoting programmes that support young, disadvantaged people into meaningful work through boxing, mentoring, and employment opportunities.

The programmes create positive change using boxing as a gateway into training, apprenticeships, and employment.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER - JAMES HOBDEN

Deprived communities need more support than ever as local government services are cut and the cost of living crisis bites. At the same time, there is a real labour and skills shortage in the UK.

We're committed to helping the communities that need support the most and believe these programmes will make a real difference

Our aspiration is to take our partnership with WBC Cares UK nationwide, using our training, apprenticeship and employment opportunities in retail and construction as stepping stones to build careers and communities. It's the perfect fit with s106 requirements too.

TRASH TALK

Rockinghorse Children's Charity are one of three charities we’re supporting this year as part of our brand ideal. Rockinghorse are the official fundraising arm for the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton and do amazing work raising money for life-saving equipment, specialist projects and enhanced services for young babies.

As well as making a difference in helping keep the beach clean, this was a great way to bring the team together and engage the local community. Best of all we raised £990 for Rockinghorse Children's Charity!

RAISING THE BAR by Elle Cummings

We’re proud to hold the ISO14001 accreditation – this is the standard that sets out the requirements for a successful environmental management system.

We are always working to find ways to help reduce consumption, waste and costs, so by having this in place it allows us to continuously improve our performance through effective use of resources.

Operating sustainably is at the heart of our business and values. It drives us to improve every day across all areas of the Group.

We want our clients, colleagues and the communities we serve to be confident that they are working with a business whose values are focused on improving their environmental impact and operating sustainably.
