Shore Construction - November CSR Newsletter

"We're continuing to move rapidly, expanding our Group CSR strategy and there's been a huge amount of progress in just 4 weeks.

As well as a great focus from our team, the client engagement has been amazing. We're seeing how effective CSR can be as a joint effort across the whole supply chain.

With COP27 all over the news, it only emphasises the importance of programmes that create lasting impact. Legacy is often used too lightly, but our CSR actions now, really will be the footprints we leave the next generation."

WBC CARES UK ON ITV!

The team at the Brighton and Hove ABC were delighted when ITV Meridian paid them a visit to find out more about Shore Construction’s partnership with WBC Cares UK, and how it’s helping get NEETs into employment.

Our team was joined by WBC Cares UK Chairman, Scott Welch and a number of youngsters in the programme to share the story and spread the word. It was an inspirational day for everyone to be part of and the coverage was a real boost as we grow our partnership in the coming years.

OPENING DOORS

Building on the success of our CSCS courses in Brighton, we’re excited to be launching two new locations next month. These courses are essential first steps for anyone looking for a career in construction.

On 22nd Nov we host a 2-day course in Kent working in partnership with Runway Training, our first in the county. This is swiftly followed by our first course in Bournemouth on 10th December in partnership with Functional Skills UK.

BUILDING BLOCKS

Sustainable construction is at the heart of our development approach, reducing our impact on the environment and local community.

As part of this, we recently took delivery of over 200 preassembled bathroom 'pods'. These pods dramatically reduce the number of workers and vehicles we need on site, lowering our carbon footprint and increasing the speed of the entire development.

Called 'Design for Manufacture and Assembly', this technique reduces vehicle deliveries to site, as well as reducing waste and improving worker safety as technical components can be assembled in dedicated factory environments.

DID YOU KNOW?

Over the last month, our team have completed 35 courses covering 11 different areas including Environmental Awareness, Stress Management and Driving Safety!
